Hello! Thank you so much for joining us at this little in-between musebox to play out those scenes you've really been wanting to while we make Raise the Earth the game it can be! Good things take time and we appreciate your patience so much during this cooldown period, but in the meantime, have fun with this community!

This musebox is set between June of 2015 and June of 2016. Depending on when you set your logs in that time frame, the world is in a shaky precipitous state, so please judge accordingly regarding what your character owns, builds, purchases, etc. If you have any questions about what's possible, please comment on this post under this header.

A few rules to keep things clean and fair!

1. This musebox is open to established characters whose apps were accepted in Save the Earth to resolve or bridge storylines between the two games. Membership is therefore moderated and will need to be approved. Furthermore, all of Save the Earth's rules apply here, so please be mindful!

2. This musebox is canon; this is not a place to play out smut for the lulz or explore what-if scenarios. If you're playing it here, it's because you want it to be a part of your character's history when you app at Raise the Earth, so please consider the choices you make for your character carefully!

3. Before creating or adding anything new to this setting, please clear it with the moderators! That's me (Lexil) at lexil, Ken at mugennoken, Salsa at maxsalsa and Zalein at zalein, and we're worldbuilding our butts off right now. If we can make your idea work, we'll try to, but please don't go creating skyscrapers, singlehandedly fixing the wrecked economy, or chasing waterfalls without nudging us first.

4. Echoes can be requested in the thread here! Please use this template:

I remember somewhere that returning characters could recieve two plot echoes. Just wanted to clarify if that was true!

Yes! This is true. Every legacy character is permitted two plot echoes by the beginning of RTE. Recurrence echoes gained in betweentheearth do count toward this total, and it's completely up to the player whether they want to play out specific triggers for these echoes or go for the plot echo option for more flexibility.

Just to double-check, would it be reasonable to assume that Jordan / Qatar / Gulf Coast countries weren't affected by the invasion?

(I couldn't remember anything being mentioned during the invasion proper about that part of the world, so please let me know if I was mistaken!)

That part of the world was subject to some minor scoring by the moon serpent. It's reasonable to assume that relative to the rest of the world, these countries are in pretty good shape.

Got it. This leads into my other question: how feasible would international travel be between, say, Jordan and New Zealand?

(I'm imagining a hub in either Doha or Dubai, partially bc they're travel hubs IRL between the Middle East and Asia, but since Stefan's staying in the Middle East, he can't exactly use a teleporter to get around.)

Trigger: Finding his parents' bodies in the ruins of London.
Type: Tier one, recurrence, memory
Regain: A memory of his father's death: Beginning with the exchange during which Mandos says that an Elf has been killed in Aman (this elf being Finwë) and ending after Fëanor has dug Finwë's body out of the ruins of Formenos.

Trigger: Preparing his parents' bodies to be buried and seeing their lifeless, but cleaned up bodies, that look vaguely like sleeping.
Type: Tier one, recurrence, memory
Regain: A memory of his mother's passing: Visiting her body with his father while they still thought that she would return to it (aka visiting a body that looks like its sleeping), and one day being told that his mother won't return and what they're seeing now is really only that, a body, and his mother is dead for good.
